We recently called in a Federal Mediator who is assisting with our negotiations with management. While the mediator has helped somewhat, we still have not come to agreement on three major issues:

• Significant changes in medical benefits affecting all employees.
• Language to ensure adequate staffing.
• Changes to wage scale that would prevent RNs from getting step raises.

Voting yes does not guarantee a strike; it simply gives our Bargaining Team authorization to call a strike if one becomes absolutely necessary. A strike is a last resort and will only be called if all other means have been exhausted.
