Your Union contract—also called a Collective Bargaining Agreement—is a legally-binding document that guarantees your terms of employment, including pay, benefits, hours, holidays, sick leave, seniority, job safety and more. Our contracts are also designed to improve patient safety by impacting staffing levels, work quality, supplies and resources, working conditions and worksite issues.

Our Union contracts provide far more protections than state and federal laws. For example, California (like most states) follows a legal doctrine called “at-will employment,” which means workers who don’t have job protections in a Union contract can be fired for any reason—or no reason at all.

All-in-all, our Union Contracts give us strength, security, and a voice at work—and we put significant resources into making them as powerful as possible. Your Union Stewards work to enforce the contract (more on that here) but it is important that we all know what is in the contract.

To request a copy of the contract for your facility, fill out all fields in the form. We will match the information you provide to our records, and we will send you a digital copy of the contract.
