On August 5, 2025, ED management informed our Emergency Department members of a change to the current ED Visitor Policy. This change alters a previously agreed-upon practice that limited the number of visitors allowed during patient care in the ED.

We view this as a significant change to your working conditions, as it places additional responsibility on ED RNs to manage a higher volume of visitors while continuing to provide safe and effective patient care.

In response, your union leadership has taken action by filing a cease and desist letter against this unilateral change, which was implemented without formal notification or any attempt at discussion with union representatives.

As we move toward initiating a dialogue with your department regarding this issue, your input is essential.
