PSJMC Bargaining Update #5: Solidarity Wins Contracts, Stand With Your Bargaining Team
Join our Virtual Town Hall Thursday, October 30 Time: 8pm Teams Link
Your bargaining team remains focused on securing a contract that prioritizes patient safety, respect for nurses, and safe staffing. We welcome every opportunity to refocus negotiations on meaningful solutions that reflect the realities nurses face every day.
After continued back-and-forth, we’re getting closer to a tentative agreement on our Floating article. Our goal is clear: no nurse should be floated without proper training, orientation, and validated competencies. We’re working to prevent arbitrary floating assignments that put nurses and patients at risk.
We again proposed specific contract language to clarify the process for nurses to report harassment by physicians. Nurses must have a safe and transparent process to report harassment — and management must be held accountable for ensuring a respectful workplace.
As a bargaining team we’ve begun discussing our economic proposals.
Our proposals will reflect:
- The rising cost of living
- Increasing patient loads
- The need to recognize and retain the skilled nurses who keep PSJMC running
We’re fighting for wages and benefits that reflect our true value to this hospital and the community we serve.
✊ Solidarity Is Our Strength
We can’t win this fight alone. Every nurse standing together sends a clear message. We deserve respect. We deserve a workplace free from harassment. We deserve a fair contract.
Your voice matters. Your support matters. Sign the petition to show management that nurses are united and serious about winning the protections we need. 🔗 seiu121rn.org/psjmc-petition
