Bargaining Update #1: Bargaining Has Begun — Let’s Build a Contract That Reflects Our Power!
We’re excited to share that bargaining is officially underway — and your bargaining team is already making progress on the issues that matter most to you.
Thanks to your survey responses, we came to the table with a clear mandate: fight for a contract that reflects your priorities, protects your rights, and strengthens nurse and patient safety.
🟣 What’s Happening at the Table:
This week, we reached Tentative Agreements (TAs) on several foundational articles, including:
- Nursing Practice Standards — affirming your professional judgment and autonomy
- Grievance Procedure — ensuring fair and transparent resolution of workplace issues
- Union Representation — protecting your right to organize and advocate
- 6/2 Program — securing clarity and agreement on this critical scheduling structure
And we’re just getting started.
🔜 What’s Coming Next:
We’ll be tackling some of the most urgent and sensitive issues raised by members, including:
- Retaliation — protecting nurses who speak up
- Breaks — ensuring time to rest and recharge
- Floating — addressing fairness and safety in assignments
These are not just bargaining topics — they’re daily realities for nurses across our hospital. And we need your voice to keep them front and center.
📣 Your Role Is Critical
Your bargaining team is strong, but we’re strongest when we’re united. In the coming weeks, we’ll be asking for your support in a variety of ways:
- Join your department’s WhatsApp group to stay informed and connected
- Attend our town halls to hear updates and share your voice
- Participate in tabling events, purple days, and sticker actions
- Talk to your coworkers and help build momentum

Together, we’re building a contract we can be proud of.
