“Secure Hospitals for All,” legislation authored by Assemblymember Gipson (D-Carson) and backed by healthcare union SEIU 121RN, will soon be heard in the California Senate, after passing the Assembly in May. The bill aims to bolster hospital security by installing metal detectors at key entrances, and by changing policies on search and seizure of weapons.
