Firing workers to stop them from organizing isn’t just unfair—it’s expensive. Prime Healthcare learned this lesson the hard way, when the NLRB charged them with illegally terminating Licensed Medical Professionals who voted to form their Union with SEIU 121RN. To settle the case, Prime paid fired Professionals $458,781 in lost wages. Additionally, they agreed to rehire everyone who wanted to return to their position, then meet them at the bargaining table to negotiate a Union contract.
