Dignity Bargaining Update #2

August 7, 2024

This Week's Bargaining Priorities: Ancillary staff needs, Dignity absence policy

Not having needed support staff is a huge concern and leads to low employee morale. It is not only Nurses with these anxieties, professionals at Dignity are feeling the pinch too.

Our Physical Therapists are facing significant challenges, as they are unable to complete treatments and diagnose patients in a timely manner before discharge.

Our Pharmacists are experiencing significant strain due to the overwhelming number of requests coming from nurses on the floor due to the high volume of medication orders
and inquiries.

“We smile because we believe and hope that our concerns will be heard at the bargaining table. Across all Dignity Health hospitals; Oxnard, Camarillo, and Northridge, we are collectively feeling the strain.

The reduction in ancillary staff has placed an additional burden on nurses and medical professionals who are now expected to manage more responsibilities with fewer resources. Our patients are presenting with increasingly acute conditions, yet we are asked to do more with less support. “
