Nurses at Riverside Community Hospital and West Hills Hospital have ratified their new union contracts! These agreements will create better workplaces for Nurss, and safer hospitals for all. These hard-fought wins would not have been possible without the tidal wave of union solidarity Nurses expressed during the #HCASoCalStrike.
Nurses at both hospitals voted in favor of the agreement, which includes:
- Paid, in-person workplace violence training
- Stricter requirements on hospital to avoid putting Nurses out of ratio
- Improved workload and staffing language
- Wage increases: cumulative, across-the-board of 16.5% over 3 years
- Introduction of new steps to the wage scale
- Protected health insurance costs, with no increase to members' contributions
