indred have said enough is enough, there needs to be change. Inadequate staffing and facilities issues that plague the kindred system need to be addressed. I don’t know if you heard, but Nurses at Kindred Ontario recently held an informational picket to let the community and the public know about what’s going on at the hospital.
Nurses are coming together; our collective power has even made a change at the bargaining table. Kindred has brought on a new negotiator—we hope that Nurses and our ideas will be respected much more moving forward.
Mutual parties felt that the best way to move forward was to reintroduce all contract articles. We welcome a clean slate negotiating this contract. La Mirada Nurses are serious about solving retention issues and associated burnout. Our tenured colleagues have shouldered so much, when Kindred leans on us with “Team Nursing,” who is the first to step up—you!
Thank you to all the folks that showed up to our last bargaining session, again its open for any Nurse to attend, so get in touch with your bargaining team if interested.
