- What are the New Documentation requirements?

-  Inappropriate Assignments: What to do if asked to care for patients you are not qualified to care for.

It’s difficult to stay up to date with all the changes during the COVID-19 pandemic**.** This class will explain the new California laws regarding nursing and what you need to do**.** Nurse Attorney Laurie Elston will also discuss several recent lawsuits related to medical and nursing issues raised by the pandemic.

Objectives: After completing this course, participants will be able to:

*Discuss emergency standards of care that apply to RNs and other healthcare workers during the state of emergency as it relates to COVID-19.

*Discuss the documentation requirements for nurses during the state of emergency as it relates to COVID-19.

*Understand RN CE requirements during the declared state of emergency in California.

*Understand and discuss what an inappropriate assignment is and what actions to take if you are asked to care for patients you are not qualified to care for.
