Dear 121RN Members,
Last week, I sent another letter to your hospital administrator, as well as a proposal on issues ranging from PPE to PTO. A few hospitals are offering one or a few of these benefits, and some are offering none. Where they are being offered, we’ve proposed that they extend them.
These ongoing official Union communications continue to be a critical part of our work to drive urgent action in your hospital. There is no guarantee that your hospital will agree, but we are continuing to push the issues that you care about and are also working with elected officials and others to hold hospitals accountable to all of you and your patients.
Be sure to take our latest member survey, which will arm us with data to use in all negotiations with your hospital.Click here now! |
In the letter, we repeat our ongoing demand for details of your hospitals' emergency management plans, including amount of PPE on hand, its distribution, exposure notification, how much money they’ve received from the CARES Act and other issues related to COVID-19.
In the accompanying proposal, we cover:
- PTO and Incentive Pay
- COVID-19 Testing
- PPE
- Child Care, Lodging, Emotional Trauma
- Preservation of Work/Hours
- ...and much more!
Sincerely, Rosanna Mendez Executive Director, SEIU Local 121RN
P.S. Please continue to reach out to your Stewards and your Union Rep/Organizer with concerns and suggestions. (If you don't know who they are, you can look them up here.)
