This two-day program will look at the current environment in which nurses practice, including laws and regulations, standards, and technology and offer some insight and solutions. Reductions in support staff and downsizing have increased patient workloads and increasing technology requires more education at a time that hospitals are reducing educational budgets. Expanded definitions of legal liability have held all professionals to a higher scope of practice. How do nurses protect themselves as well as their patients? As they say, join us for “Good Times at Morongo” and learn a lot!
OBJECTIVES:
Participants will be able to:
- Learn how to capture needed information in your charting.
- Recognize how electronic records are changing nursing legal liability.
- Understand how the RN can manage risks associated with electronic charting.
- Recognize legal responsibilities and risks.
- Communicate effectively with all co-workers.
- Understand the regulations governing staffing and address them effectively.
