SEIU 121RN members at Providence Tarzana Medical Center ratified a new two-year contract with management on Oct. 9. This contract was not without opposition and members expressed concerns about changes to the Clinical Ladder, wage rates, and other issues we proposed and for which we had fought.
Our Bargaining Team fought hard against take-aways and to make some positive changes. Although we were not able to get everything we wanted, we’re proud of our accomplishments.
- Maintenance of Clinical Ladder levels for current participants during the entire course of their employment.
- Maintenance of our wage scale.
- Increase to night and evening shift differentials.
- We can now plan vacations more normally! We will have the ability to request vacations when we make our plans at any time. The limits on when you can request vacations has been removed.
Contract negotiations don’t just happen every few years; they happen every day at work. Know our contract, file grievances when necessary, fight for our rights even when it’s not currently in our contract. Our unity will make a difference!
