RNs voting at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, St. John's Regional Medical Center and St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital overwhelming approved giving the Bargaining Team authority to call a strike if one becomes necessary.
Our Bargaining Team called for the strike vote because management continues to insist that our Union standards be removed from our contract even though they have withdrawn their proposal to remove Union standards from the contract of our sisters and brothers in UHW. Our team also feels that management is not bargaining in good faith and is dragging their heels.
We fought over many years to have workplace standards included in our contract for improved patient care and RN safety. We will not agree to delete these protections from our contract. Our vote to authorize our Bargaining Team to call a strike does not guarantee a strike; it simply gives our team authorization to call a strike if one becomes absolutely necessary.
ThankĀ you to the hundreds of Dignity RNs who came out to vote!
