- Barbara Washington-Knight continues to be active in the Riverside Central Labor Council and CACie.
- “Occupy Riverside” movement has moved to “Occupy San Bernardino” and our Union Rep is no longer the first aid resource.
- Union Rep Donna Sigaty participated in the “UTLA Collective Bargaining Education program” at Yucaipa High School to teach students about the Collective Bargaining process on Dec. 11.
- There were 10 new RN hires in December.
New Grievances:
- A Class Action Grievance was filed on Nov. 6 related to the security “lockdown." Grievance meetings were held on Dec. 14 and 20, then a “cease and desist” was filed on Dec. 20, “Dispute resolution” was filed on Dec. 20 with the process started on Dec. 27.
Pending Grievances:
- Influenza Program: Held in abeyance awaiting Los Robles and West Hills response.
Resolved Grievances:
- NICU RN transferred to CCL on Dec. 12, 2011. As of Jan. 4, we are requesting she be allowed to return to NICU.
- Class Action regarding “Vocera” phones.
Resolved Before Grievance:
- Two CSUSB Partnership new grads transferred from ER to Med/Surg instead of being terminated.
Disciplines:
- Final warning for patient safety in ER.
Pending Arbitration:
- No Mandatory O.T. meeting on Oct. 7 to Oct. 14. CCL staff meeting on Nov. 6. Awaiting staff petition before next meeting.
Scheduled Meetings:
- Conference call on Jan. 12 regarding “lockdown.” We are hopeful for a resolution or we’ll move to mediation.
