Community Coalition
RCH RNs had a good time celebrating the holiday at the CACie (Community Action Coalition of the Inland Empire) Labor Day Picnic Saturday, September 3. The rally and lunch was held at Fairmount park in Riverside. School supply backpacks were given to all union members’ children and there was face painting and games for kids. The event was sponsored by IBEW Local 440, LIUNA local 777, SEIU locals 121RN, 1000 & 721, and Warehouse Workers United.
Possible UFCW Strike
RCH RNs adopted the Ralphs Market on Magnolia to support grocery workers there who are fighting for a fair contract. Nurses signed six petitions to the CEOs of Vons, Albertsons and Ralphs, and hand-delivered it to the Ralphs Market Riverside Manager Steve McIntire. Copies were mailed to the CEOs on August 19, which was the day UFCW workers voted to authorize their Bargaining Team to call a strike
