With 12 years of nursing experience and eight years of union advocacy behind her, Corey is an impassioned champion of workplace safety, nurses’ rights, and safe patient care. Her diverse background in nursing  (Tele/Oncology, Emergency/Trauma, and pediatric critical care) has given her firsthand insight into the daily challenges faced by frontline nurses and professionals.

As a dedicated labor advocate, Corey played a role in fighting for better work conditions among healthcare professionals. She has participated in three contract negotiations and, in 2023, successfully organized a joint strike of RNs and Professionals—demonstrating the power of collective bargaining in improving patient care and protecting nurse safety. Her advocacy has focused on securing fair wages, enforcement of safe staffing ratios, and stronger protections for workers against unsafe working conditions.

Behind the scenes, Corey has been instrumental in holding hospitals accountable. She has worked to monitor CDPH enforcement, helped develop an internal tracking system to ensure complaints don’t get swept under the rug, and was a part of the team that refined ADO forms to give nurses a stronger voice in reporting unsafe workplace conditions.

Whether at the bedside, at the bargaining table, or behind the scenes, she remains committed to empowering nurses and healthcare professionals to stand up, speak out, and demand the respect and protections they deserve.
