As someone who comes from a union family, Nanette has first-hand experience of the life-changing impact of union membership. She joined SEIU 121RN in 2017 as an External Organizer to lead healthcare workers in their fight for better working conditions and to help unionization efforts at hospitals throughout Southern California.

Throughout her tenure with the union, Nanette has helped Nurses and Licensed Medical Professionals organize at some of the largest hospital systems, including Kindred Health, Southern California Hospital, HCA, Kaiser and Prime Healthcare. Nanette has also helped in other SEIU organizing campaigns outside California during her time in External Organizing, in healthcare and other industries.

Nanette transitioned into a new role as a Union Representative in summer of 2025. She is excited to continue building leadership among members and continue fighting for a better workplace for their patients, their license, and their families
