On Wednesday, management looked out at their first in-person monthly staff meeting and saw 60 Compassus RNs and Professionals proudly wearing their yellow “I Support Our Bargaining Team” stickers.

They can make Nurses go to their mandatory meeting, but they can’t stop Nurses from wearing their Union stickers and showing solidarity with their Bargaining Team’s fight for a fair contract that wins stability, better patient care policies, and respect for Compassus Nurses.

With the wind of solidarity at their backs, your Bargaining Team fought back against management’s attempt to sneak an article into your contract that would let them deny PTO requests for any reason.

Your Bargaining Team refused to consider it. Instead, they proposed two important articles:

• More structure and flexibility in vacation and holiday PTO scheduling, including the right for three Nurses to take PTO at the same time.
• Employment security, which requires Compassus management to work with your Union to prevent layoffs and keep staff employed.

At the next bargaining session, we will begin negotiating economic proposals.
