This Week Your Bargaining Won Big
Vista Specialty Hospital – La Mirada
With Your Solidarity, Your Bargaining Team is Fighting for
Improvements to Your Cost-Sharing Plan, Union Nurses’ Seniority Rights, and Expanding Anti-Discrimination Language
September 16, 2026 · Bargaining Update
After demonstrating that Vista Nurses stand in solidarity with your Bargaining Team’s fight for a fair contract by delivering your petition to management last bargaining session, your Bargaining Team got to work passing two important articles in your contract and proposing multiple important articles this week.
This week, your Bargaining Team won:
✅A more thorough and detailed non-discrimination language than management initially proposed. This will ensure all Nurses are protected from harassment and respected at the hospital.
✅A large bulletin board in the employee lounge to ensure Nurses stay informed of the latest Union updates.
Your Bargaining Team also proposed:
✅Establishing a baseline for healthcare cost-sharing for the life of the contract
✅The creation of a third healthcare benefit plan that sits between the two plans already offered
✅Seniority rules that protect Union Nurses’ first right to new job vacancies, before non-bargaining unit employees, and your right to get offers for extra shifts before registry nurses.
