At the last bargaining session, ICU Nurse Evelyn St. Thomas stood up, looked the hospital’s management team in their eyes and handed them your petition, which a majority of Vista Nurses signed, laying out the problems at Vista, and how to solve them.

“Vista nurses are calling for a fair contract that reflects the value we bring to the hospital. Safe staffing that allows nurses to provide quality patient care, and protects our licenses at the same time. Staffing retention to keep experienced nurses at the hospital and retain the new hires, and compensation and benefits that ensure nurses build our careers and our community at Vista, St. Thomas said. “We love our work, and we are proud of the care we provide. But we also know our worth. It’s time management shows that it values us, not just with words, but with action.”

That’s the kind of assertiveness, solidarity, and energy that wins strong contracts.

With the wind of solidarity at their backs, your Bargaining Team notched some important wins, like a tentative agreement that will strengthen the Labor Management Committee’s ability to solve patient care problems.
