BARGAINING UPDATE: contract negotiations are underway
June 25, 2026

We’ve started negotiations for Riverside Community Hospital (RCH) and Los Robles Regional Medical Center (LRRMC)! Our bargaining team came to the table prepared to make rapid progress.
We proposed and reached agreement on 43 contract articles that maintain existing language on a variety of topics. We submitted proposals with important changes identified as priorities in our bargaining surveys, but the employer either rejected them or hasn’t responded yet.
Unfortunately, the hospitals didn’t match our energy. They’ve created obstacles for some bargaining team members to participate in the process, refusing to release them even with 3 months’ advance notice.
At RCH, management has refused to recognize and bargain with Quality Improvement/Trauma Coordinator Nurses who won their election to join the union in 2024.
RCH has lost every appeal it filed on this legal decision by the National Labor Relations Board, yet still refuse to abide it. They have also failed to provide information essential to bargaining, including Cal-OSHA reports (legally required) and other information that we need to formulate proposals on compensation, safety and more.
It will be up to all of us to make them listen.
“I became a Nurse because I’m an empath. I want to provide more than medical care. I want to give patients the humanity and emotional support that often missing from healthcare. I know that human interaction is essential to their healing. It takes time, and kindness. Sadly, that is impossible in a chaotic, overburdened and understaffed Emergency Room.
In our ER patients are everywhere. They are in recliners and waiting areas, sitting upright in chairs for hours waiting for an ER bed. Due to insufficient staffing especially in these waiting areas with high patient volume relative to RNs, higher risk fall patients are at risk of dangerous falls and patient care is delayed. ER has no CNAs. We have asked our CEO for support staff and have been told ‘No.’ It all feels like insufficient staffing created by design that benefits the hospital’s profits, but our patients pay the price.”
We’re ready to fight for a contract nurses, professionals and patients can depend on. Our demands are clear – add your name to the petition today!
