Your Team Is at the Table.
Management Is Stalling.

June 23, 2026 · Bargaining Update

Your bargaining team was back at the table yesterday fighting for the contract YOU deserve.
Here’s where things stand:

Workplace Safety

You shouldn’t be the ones finding weapons in patients’ belongings. We pushed management to have security officers search bags before anyone enters the hospital. Management said they’d “review the process.” We made it clear: this is about workplace safety. It needs to be in this contract, not in review.

Break Relief

We are not moving off this. The charge nurse cannot be expected to break an entire floor while running the unit at the same time. We held firm on language requiring that whoever relieves you assumes full responsibility for your patients.

Case Managers

Your bargaining team is fighting for case managers to be placed on the wage scale based on years of RN experience. Case managers are nurses. This contract needs to reflect that.

Economics
We are still waiting on management’s counter to our economic proposals. We put nurses first. Management has not responded.

What’s Next?

We continue bargaining on July 2. AHMC has a chance to show they value their nurses and put forward economics that reflect your worth. We need your attention now. Tune in, show up, and spread the word.

Thank you to the Union Nurses who came to the latest bargaining session to show our strength in unity. If you’d like to attend the next bargaining session please let your Bargaining Team know: Maria Elena Diaz, Alexis Valadez, Rossana Kou, and Andrew Nicoll.

Together, we will show AHMC that Garfield nurses are not backing down.
