Compassus wants both flexibility and control. Where does that leave Nurses?
In our most recent sit downs with management one thing has become clear—Compassus has a specific business plan, and it might not be in the best interest of Home Health Nurses or your patients.
Already, they’ve proposed takeaways: rights you have in your current contract and/or practices you follow now which they seek to remove.
A pattern is emerging, revealing Compassus’s vision for an ideal workforce—one they can control to maximize your productivity and their profit.
Management wants MORE control and a WEAKER contract.

Here are the things to look out for as negotiations continue:
Mandatory Overtime: Management wants to remove contract language prohibiting mandatory overtime. Currently management can’t require Nurses to do OT. This would allow them to require RNs to take on additional patients and more hours, even on short notice.
Changes to PTO: Currently, three RNs can be on PTO at the same time, at a minimum. Removing this language would allow management to arbitrarily deny PTO requests if they claim that it will be too busy (with or without evidence.)
Self scheduling/weekend shift changes: Under current practice, you’re able to build your schedule around a required weekend shift, so that you can request to have Friday or Monday as your day off.
