Nurses negotiating a contract with their employers at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center picketed the Burbank hospital Thursday as they gathered to vote on authorizing a potential strike.

The hospital’s nearly 900 nurses are represented by Service Employees International Union Local 121RN.
